Drawing from my Nepali heritage, I aim to honour my parents’ sacrifices, pursue professional goals in public health, and ultimately give back to my community. This discussion will examine personal motivations, career aspirations, and broader implications, supported by relevant evidence from academic and official sources. By doing so, it highlights how higher education serves as a bridge between individual ambition and communal benefit, particularly in addressing health disparities in Nepal.
Personal Motivations and Family Legacy
Higher education is deeply important to me because it allows me to make my parents proud and validate the immense sacrifices they made to provide me with opportunities. Growing up in Nepal before my family relocated, I witnessed firsthand the challenges my parents faced, including financial hardships and cultural adjustments, to ensure a better future for me. Their unwavering support has instilled in me a sense of duty to succeed academically and professionally.
